Lyle R Hansen, 64, of Spokane Valley, WA, passed away on December 8, 2022. Lyle was born on March 13, 1958, in Spokane, WA, to Dale and Dwila Hansen. He graduated from West Valley High School in Spokane Valley and went on to be a business owner before trying his hand at other professions. He worked for several years as a cook for Valley Hospital & Medical Center. He was a driver for Newman Lake Garbage for many years, as well as Sunshine Disposal. He finished out his work years by retiring from Central Valley School District after 11 years as a custodian. Lyle also provided personal catering for several weddings and celebrations. He was a superb chef and enjoyed sharing his skills with others. Lyle married Patricia Morphew in 1984 and they enjoyed many years together until the marriage ended in divorce. He was a founding member of Eastern Evergreen Riders and was a member of the local Eagles. Lyle enjoyed camping and spending time on the Washington coast. Having spent much of his growing-up years helping with his grandparents’ farm in Fairfield, WA, Lyle enjoyed gardening and canning. Lyle is survived by his former wife Patty, brother Jim Hansen, sister Stephanie Bailey, stepmother Anna Hansen, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald Hansen. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1 pm on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Thornhill Valley Chapel located at 1400 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lyle’s life. Donations in Lyle’s name may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or the Union Gospel Mission.
