Death notice
Gerald Lawrence Ackerman of Spokane, Washington, passed away on December 24, 2022 at the age 91. Gerald (Gerry) was born in Yonkers, New York on May 29, 1931 to Gertrude Fitzpatrick and Edward Ackerman. Gerry was a Korean War veteran and served his country honorably. He worked as a machinist for over 30 years and retired in Spokane, Washington where he enjoyed canyoning, skiing, and other outdoor activities. He had a great love for singing, telling stories, and his grandchildren. Gerry was loved by his faith community and always shared his meals with those in need. Gerry is survived by his four children, Mary, Rita, Margie, and Ed; 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. A private family service is planned.
